Murphy name help

Hello everyone,I'm new to this site, hoping that someone will be able to help me. Whether it is my mind hitting a wall or whatever,I am having severe difficulties in finding further details about my grandfather.
Name: Adam Murphy, born appx 1899(+/-1 yr)
Found his marriage cert for 1919 to an Ellen Morrison in Glasgow
His parents were John Murphy & Margaret (or may be Ann) Ashcroft
I just seem unable to find his birth details, can anyone help me?

noggin on 2014-04-08 09:42:49There are 3 Adam Murphy births registered in Scotland between 1895-1902 and 12 on the 1901 census.
They are on this site : http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

alanmurp on 2014-04-08 15:08:58thanks for this, this drew a blank on 1901 census in Scotland as did the births. Both Adam's parents were deceased at the time of his marriage. Checking Scotland deaths between his birth year and marriage also comes to nothing. Does anyone have any idea which avenue to go down now?

It may be possible to trace Ellen or her parents on the 1901 Census. Have you tried the 1911 Scotland census on the Scotlands People site for Adam.

Do you have your father/mother's birth to confirm parents as Adam Murphy & Ellen Morrison, where was he/she born?.

Adams parents were, John Murphy (deceased), coal miner. Mother Margaret Ashcroft (deceased).
Ellen's parents were; John Morrison (riveter), Mother Elizabeth Black
Adam Murphy aged 19 yrs was a coal miner, whilst Ellen Morrison was aged 18 years and laundress.
