I have been a member at Ancestry for 8 years and I have 3 active trees. My largest tree is "Roleson/Roof/Black of Sussex County, NJ", it focuses mostly on my father's American side. My mother was second generation Norwegian. Some of the surnames in my family are Roof, Predmore, Current, Nixon, Ayers, Black, Martin, Bishop, Roloson, Rolison, Schoonover, Struble, Hendershot, and Hull; all in New Jersey and after 1840, Pennsylvania and westward.

I am interested in finding any information about my gr-grandmother, Mary A Rouse, nee Black, nee Rolison, born March 1853. Her parents, Benjamin Rouse and Elisabeth Black presumably died around 1865-1870 and Mary and her two Brothers, John and James and two sisters, Martha Matilda and Catherine were let out for adoption. Mary married my gr-grandfather, Decker A Roleson (Rollison, Rowlandson, Rolison, Roloson, Bolison) around 1870 and the children were Matthias Roleson and Joseph Elias Roleson, my grandfather. Mary disappeared when my grandfather Joseph was 18 months old. My family's reference to her was always as "Mary Black" who took "French-leave" and deserted her family. I found a reference to her in the 1885 New Jersey Census as staying with Jacob Rutan and his wife, Nancy Roloson Rutan.

I also need help in finding parentage for John H. Martin, b. 1786 and Elisabeth Bishop, b. 1795 of Vernon, Sussex County, New Jersey and Wayne County-Pike County, Pennsylvania, later Byram and Jefferson Township, Morris County, Pennsylvania.
