My search is for an Alexander MacKay who lived in and around the Thames area about 1876 as I have him marrying an Alice Green then. any information about him would be great. he is sometimes a miner and sometimes a carpenter on some of his childrens birth certificates

My father has My great Great grandfathers death certificate, which was found by the same registration that stated that he was buried in Waikumete cemetery, we know this is our Alexander as Great Great Grandma Hannah is buried in same plot. On the death Cert, it states that he had 10 children, there are no names only ages and genders, but Hannah Morris (I don't think they married) only had 4 living children. So the other 6 were from a previous relationship/marriage that may have been an Alice Green. I also have his last will and testament, which only leaves his estate to Hannah and his 4 children to her. Don't know anything about the older 6 kids or Alice Green.

He was a military pensioner from Glasgow, Scotland. He came to NZ and became a Gold Miner and Mining Agent in the Karanghake gorge area.
