Nagle's of Ballinamona, Co. Cork, Ireland
My great-great-grandfather, Henry Baillie NAGLE was born cir 1815, in London England according to various census records I have found for him. However, Henry claims to be descended from the Nagles of Ballinamona. It appears that Henry's parents may be John NAGLE and Elizabeth BAILLIE. John is claimed to be the son of Garrett NAGLE of Monanimy and Ballyduff. Elizabeth is the daughter of Lt Col William A. BAILLIE. This information comes from a book of poetry written by Henry in the 1870s and information from researchers of the BAILLIE family.
Henry married Johanna MURPHY and had John Henry Baillie NAGLE, James Baillie NAGLE, William NAGLE, Alicia Caroline NAGLE, Henry A. NAGLE, George E. NAGLE, Richard NAGLE, Frederick Baillie NAGLE and Louisa Ann NAGLE. The children were born between 1838 and 1861, some where born in IRELAND and others in London, ENGLAND
Johanna died 1868 and Henry remarried in Sept. 1868 in Cork IRELAND, to Catherine DONOVAN.
I am always happy to exchange information on any connections to this family.
