Marion was a daughter of Edward (Ned) Williams and Mary, nee Campbell, Her siblings were Carrie, who never married, Jimmy the squid who carried fish from the Rosebud area to the Mornington railhead, and Edward (Ted). These three are buried at Rye Cemetery opposite the grave of Sidney Smith Crispo, a great friend of the Williams family and grantee of "Eastbourne", Cassie's grave between those of James and Edwards' to prevent them quarreling in death as they had while living Ted's grave having no gravestone as he didn't deserve one in Cassie's opinion.
"Quamby" was on the west side of Purves Rd and was later occupied by another daughter of Walter Cairns, Ollie, and her husband, George Johnstone who hailed from Yering. Walter Cairns was a son of Alexander Cairns, grantee of "Menstrie Mains" on the north west corner of Browns and Boneo Rds.
In 1910, John and Marion Edmonds were leasing Ned Williams' grants which straddled Browns Rd just east of Truemans Rd and Caroline Williams was on Eastbourne. In 1919, Ned Edmonds was replaced as the occupant of Ned Williams' grants on the south side of Browns Rd east of Truemans Rd by James Woonton.
James had married Marion Edmonds, Ned Edmond's sister, who died in 1975. Before her death she sold land on "Henry Potton's Farm" east of Jetty Rd to the Parr brothers who established The Willows Caravan Park on it.(P.39, STORIES OF ROSEBUD WEST, Bettyanne Foster.) That's how Woonton Crescent got its name.

He was killed near the site of the McCrae Car Wash and was leading a horse. I thought my memory was playing tricks.

Itellya is researching local history on the Mornington Peninsula and is willing to help family historians with information about the area between Somerville and Blairgowrie. He has extensive information about Henry Gomm of Somerville, Joseph Porta (Victoria's first bellows manufacturer) and Captain Adams of Rosebud.
