Agnus (NAN) ANDERSON SAUNDERS, one daughter, Mavis Maude was living in Port Moresby 1963 she married, believe she left New Guinea. Mavis is a first cousin, I am the third daughter of James EADIE. Agnus is my Aunt.
All the information above is believed true they are my relatives. Missing from the manifest was WILLIAM EADIE ( married to Sophie, one daughter Betty).
Jean Wilson stayed in Scotland.
There were 2 Jessie's -Jessie Steveson Deceased, and Jessie (Sis) Gardner.
I realize that your post is dated 2006 and I'm sure you have all this information by now. The TODD is a missing link on Grandmother Eadie's side.

The Andrew Eadie family that imm to New Zealand is a direct link to my Eadie family.

My ggg grandmother was his older sister MARY EADIE bn 1855 md John Anderson (under the surname TODD)
Her 3rd daughter my gg grandmother was Agnus Thomson Anderson she md a Morton.(poss why your family ancestor/aunt was called Agnus Anderson)

The TODD surname came from Andrews father William. Andrew was bn in Plean Stirlingshire 1866 under the surname of Todd as were all the children of that generation.

William Todd(bn1823 Dunfermline) md Mary Russell (bn 1827 Clackmannanshire) 1850s

Wm Todds pnts were George Todd and Margaret ADDIE- thats where the Eadie surname change comes from.

For some reason the family are under the surname Todd Tod Tode in the births but onlyTodd in some of the Census,1861, then it changes to Addie then back to Todd then to Eadie through the census.

The oldest son George took on all the surnames of Todd Russell Eadie and imm to the US.Pennsylvania and worked in Steel.
I have had some contact with another Eadie/ Coulter family member but lost touch with Alex she lived somewhere out in NSW.

The surname change is frustrating but you can follow it through the census with same first names same parents and same places of births as well as occupations just the Eadie surname.

Small Tree

James Tod md Margaret Drysdale

George Todd bn Muckart Perth md Margaret Addie bn Kinross md I think in Mid Lothian ( I believe there is a number of Addie families there)

Quite well off had large family owned Weaving business and employed a number of girls in Beveridgewells near Dunfermline some childen buried in Dunfermline Abbey -the 1841 & 1851 Census shows them there, George died 1856 at Beveridgewells. have not as yet found Margret Addie Adie Eadies dth cert or any where on other census as of yet.

William md Mary Russell she was a widow with at least two children (prev husband John Sharp-children Hellen,Henry (both named after her pnts), Henry died whilst they lived at Plean
Todd /Eadie
Children: Mary, George, Henry, Margaret, James and Andrew

Have most of this info packed away but have managed to contact a distant relation in US where two of my Marys daughters imm and married I have found a relative of both.My Grandmother wrote too her aunts in the US.

The last of our closest relative to the Eadies died at the age of 97 this year and she was reluctant to tell us why or if she had any idea of the name change ect. She was a dear soul.

Thats all I can tell you at the moment-
I don't know what happened to Andrews family but George md three times and had four children- some of their descendants still alive I believe,
my Mary md John Anderson(he died in a mining accident 1891) after having 3 children then another two.She remarried to a John Hamilton with eight childen.
Henry cannot find him anywhere,
Margaret md a John Anderson as well he was a sailor and died she remarried a William Mitchell a neighbour at Barleyside where the family lived, and is buried in Falkirk cemetery
James md a Mary Smith and one of their sons William George Eadie imm to Canada with his wife Sallie Fisher and they ended up in Pennsylvania USA farming.Brownville Fayette

Hope to contact more of this interesting families descendants and maybe some photos.
Kindest regards
Christine
