Hi

Yes it is the same. Rose M Butler is My GGrandmother. We only have the Birth Reg of Ordia and know she had a daughter Constance, but afraid not much more.
Don't know what happened to her after that.
Constance was adopted by relatives.

I couldn't find anything else on her either in NSW, nothing in ancestry or NSW BMD, do you think she changed her name, or perhaps moved interstate.

Does Ordia's birth certificate give you any other clues?
Do you have Constance's birth certificate? does it give you information on where Ordia lived or where Constance was born, ie hospital, home etc.

I did find a Rose M Butler marriage in 1899 to Stephen Kennedy in Junee with several children up to 1911.

Have you tried contacting the Junee Historical Society, they may have some information on the family.

I have found a family connection
1858 Rosannah Butler married James Kiddle in Camden
1869 James Butler married Rosanna Wheeler in Camden

James and Rosannah Butler were brother and sister, Ordia is Rosanna Kiddle's niece I wonder if Ordia was sent to live with a Kiddle family member until Constance was born.

More questions than answers I'm afraid.

Thanks greatly for your response

Lol Now Im really gonna confuse you.
We think Ordia changed he name (but unfortuantely nothing to back that up.
Still waiting for both Birth Certificates. Ordia's and Constance.
Know that COnstance was born in Lewisham Hospital in 1912.

Rose and Stephen Kennedy are my great Grand Parents Their son Andrew is my Grandfather (passing last month at 95 He was the last out of the 12 kids of Stephen and Rose.)

James and Rosannah Kiddle son Barnett (and his Wife Emma) are the couple that adopted Constance and brought her up in/around Girraween.

Unfortunately The Junee or Camden Historical Society have not been able to come up with anything as yet. I'm really hoping Ordia or Constances Birth Certificates can shed more light on this family line. lol
Thanks anyway

ODBERT (nee Kiddle).-April S. al Aloha private hospital. Parramatta, to Mr. and Mrs. L. E. C. Odbert. of Girraween- a son (John Dennis).

A.E.Odbert is Alfred Edward ODBERT:
bd&m.nsw DEATHS;
10448/1955 ODBERT ALFRED EDWARD JOSEPH OLIVIA MARRICKVILLE

12016/1966 ODBERT GRACE FERRIER JOSEPH ARTHUR WINIFRED MARIA G PARRAMATTA

Grace Ferrier and Alfred Edward reside in the same house at 73 Acton St., Hurlston Park on the 1933 to 1954 Electoral Rolls he is a 'Traveller'. I assume they are married. and the only A. E. Odbert I can find, In the Electoral Roll of 1937 Roll there is a Vernon Odbert living with them, a 'Mercer'

As for Ordia I don't suppose it's a transcription error? I've not heard of the name before thought perhaps it should be Olivia or something. All I can conclude is, she either died or changed it.

Alfred Edward Odbert and Grace Ferrier O'Brien are Lionel E. C. Odbert's parents they were married in Petersham in 1909.

Just a thought on Ordia, are there any similar names in the family line, Ordia could be Cordia a shortened form of Cordelia, but I guess we will have to wait and see what the certificate actually says.
