On a quest to find the elusive John ? Randolph.

Journal by garnabee

My paternal grandmother was a descendant of a man born about 1817 in Mason County West Virginia. His name was William Riley Randolph, son of Anna Carney (b.march 8,1784 in Lewis Cty Wv) and the very mysterious John ? Randolph...no known d.o.b. or place of birth, although the assumption is Virginia.

Everyone I know that have researched this man has hit the proverbial brick wall. There is an excellent webite titled West Virginia Pioneers that suggests John? was a supervisor for the Randolph Family Slave Holding Co. which rented out blocks of slaves in this area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
