Reuben Lee was supposedly born in Macoupin Co., Illinois. A family member told me his father was a John Lee who married a Rebecca Beschers (Buschier?) and has no other information on his parents. The 1880 US Census says Reuben's father was born in Ohio, mother in NC. Reuben shows up in the Oregon Territory in 1850 and lives out his life there. My line decends from his 1st marriage (in Oregon Territory) to Frances Drinkwater. He was my GG Grandfather. I'm hoping someone may have more information on this line or where to look. The same family source says that Reubens father died while he was young and assumes this was in Macoupin, Ill. Early Census records show a John Lee in that area but there is no other informatin beyond that to go on. Any help would be greatly apprectiated! I have the Lee name on both sides of my family and cannot get past this one.
