What I know of my grandfather Pita Edmonds is that he moved away from his hometown and settled in Te Awamutu with his wife nanny Maureen. I know grandpa passed away the year I was borned and nanny Maureen lived with my parents till she passed away too. Nanny Maureen is buried in Rotorua at Sala Cemetry. I also had the privilege of also having grandpa Arthur Strongman live with my parents too. He use to live with Aunty Annie Ashby at the Kerikeri inlet of the old homestead where I enjoyed myself there when I was about 10 and we were in the old batch up on the hill until it got burn't. I walked the track to the beach with grandpa Strongman, my dad and brother. Beautiful place. I want to connect to my mums side of the family because I remember some of the old people that my mum visited. Here are the names of the brothers and sisters I know.
Peter Edmonds(d) Ken Edmonds(A) Ray Edmonds(d) George Edmonds(?) Was living in Matamata in a rest home. William Edmonds(d) Robert Hook(d) Alfred Edmonds(A)in a rest home was at Mangere Bridge, Spectra. I also was told of a son at birth his name was Robert Edmonds, whom passed away as a child, the only one with blue eyes I was told. Those the only ones I know at the moment and have met. My mum Maryanne Edmonds(m)Matika or Phillips, Lorraine Edmonds (m)Chilton, Nora Edmonds(m) Selwyn.I can't remember if there was another sister, not sure, Odeyssa I think, unless she was an Aunty. Oh and koro is buried in Morrinsville.

I didn't know uz at all but I do remember seeing uz with your parents at uncle Rays and auntie Soles home in Mangere and when they visited my mum too. I didn't realise that uncle had passed away until some-one from the family had told us. Good to know all our cuzzies are out there. If interested I am on fb, Tania Phillips.

I'm not sure which daughter was talking to you, but his last lot of children are Margaret, Janet and Moana Edmonds. Uncle Ray is buried in Rotorua at Sala Cemetery. Nice to know that there are still whanau out there that we haven't met yet. My fb page is under Tania Phillips and it has a lil girl which is my grand daughter in a white top with blue dress over it. Be nice to catch up. Uncle Ray was a good man and a country and western singer. He use to love socialising with quite a few people. Well hope to hear from you when you find me.

phillipstania45 on 2013-04-05 20:03:32True, I know uncle Ray had a daughter Marianne Moengaroa Edmonds I think. She's the eldest daughter to the first marriage. She also has a half brother to uncle Rays other brother Ken Edmonds if that's the same one. On face book uncle Rays daughters on fb are Margaret Blakelock cause she got married and now separated. She lives in Perth, Australia. Janet Edmonds lives in Auckland, she has 4 children and 2 of them are on fb. Their names are Jermaine Puruto and Brandon Puruto. Those are uncle Rays moko's and then there is Moana Edmonds-Tikoipau which the last surname is her married name also. She has 2 children, she's the youngest sister and she just turned 31 years old this year. I hope that is of some help to you. kiwigurlnoz on 2013-04-05 21:42:33Hi again Tania..yeh Mary is the eldest she doesnt go under Marianne and she lives in Mackay Australia she is 46yrs and has a half brother Peter who is 47yrs. Im probably the 2nd eldest of Rays children im 45 yrs and I remember meeting two of his daughters when I was 18 who would have been Margaret and Moana I thought he said Serena but must have been Moana..they were only little then. I remembered a Janet also but she never came down with him. I have 3 children also and live in Perth as well. phillipstania45 on 2013-04-06 05:05:36That's right, Peter belongs to uncle Rays brother who's name is Ken Edmonds. Uncle Ken left Peter's mum and uncle Ray married the mum and gave him a name, not sure if that's right and yes I remember Mary in photo's and that's all I know. But you have a cousin named Diane and she knows of another daughter also. We met her at uncle Ray tangi. What a sad occasion it was. But nice to know that we have more cousins. Margaret knew of Mary and Peter which was so neat. She'll be surprise she's got another one. Nice you getting in touch with me cuz.
P.s Uncle Ken is married to Margaret's mum who is Teresa.
phillipstania45 on 2013-04-06 19:22:49Oh sorry cuz, Uncle Ray was married to Muri and uncle Ken was having an affair with her whilst uncle Ray was at work. My Husband knows the story well. My husband and Teresa are first cousins.
