Roy enlisted with the 10th Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force on the 01 August 1916. His description on enlistment was recorded as 19 years and 7 months old, 5 feet 10 and 1/4 inches high, fair complexion, brown eyes and fair hair. Next of kin named as Matilda PITT.
Killed in action on the 11 August 1918 in France and buried at the Heath Cemetery, 2500 yards North of Harronnieres.
Medals issued were the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
Roy's military record of 62 pages contains a lot of information, including his Last Will and Testament. These records are available online and take a bit of time to read.

Please could ypu tell me where I can see Roy enry Pitt's service record and will. I am researching Pitts in Adelaide area. Charles and William Pitt emigrated from Cambridgeshire in the 1800s and were brothers to my 3x great gandmother Mary Pitt, to whom they sent money via letters.
