pitts of north Georgia
Iam looking for decendants of James and Henry Pitts from Woodstock Cherokee co. Ga. Lawson ,my g-granddad moved from there to Arkansas in the 1870"s some of his brothers went to Texas, Lafayette was one , Alford was another one , not much is known of his later life, still looking.

I think you are right on 'Wizard28, in have info back to the Reve. war that states James Pitts(there were four James pitts in Smithfield Isle of Wight Va. AT THE SAME TIME apparently my ancestor was the only one that went to war. He received for his service a land grant in Ga. Henry was his son and you have a "Larson on your comment but his name was Lawson, My g-granddad. Alford and Lawson were in the Civil war, were both captured and later pardoned/. We think they both went to Texas but we have very little info on either.Temple was where Lafayette moved to. thanks. I also have a post on this site about Mary Magdaline Pitts m y g-dads baby sister. She was born on March 3rd. 1878 here in Ark. two yrs old on the 1880 census but nothing from there.......
