Pomaville family came to Quebec from France around1699 or so.
The original name from Farnce was Beault dit Pominville. the name is spelled a number of ways. Here is a small list of said spelling,( Pominville,Pomaville,Pomerville most frequently used, but all the same family.
Can anyone help me out? Looking in to how and when the family lived in Quebec and when they moved in to the U.S.A.
Thanks for any help givne.

Hello,
My husband is a Pominville. I am researching his family tree. I can confirm that Henri Brault dit Pominville left France for Quebec in 1665 and upon arrival he married Marie-Claude de Chevrainville (dit Lafontaine - also from France, moved to Quebec as a Fille du Roi). They had 12 children - his second marriage to Ursule Bolduc produced three more.
Their descendents can be found all over Quebec, into Ontario East / Ottawa area as well as the USA. I do know of one in particular from Marquette, Michigan - his name was Francois 'Frank' Pommerville/Pomerville. I suspect the name was lost in translation when he moved to the USA. His parents were Francois Brault dit Pominville and Seraphine Forgette.
Hope this helps.
