ELLEN PRENDIVILLE (formerly LYNCH) aged 21, born c. 1853 married JOHN PRENDIVILLE aged 24, born 5 November1850, Married 13 September 1874 Molahiffe, Killarney Kerry.
John’s father was THOMAS PRENDIVILLE, Farmer, his mother was CATHERINE PRENDIVILLE (née McCARTHY)
ELLEN’s father was DANIEL LYNCH, Farmer, her mother MARY LYNCH (nee ROURKE).
Arrived Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand 7 December 1875. Moved to Little River, Banks Peninsula.

JAMES LYNCH, Ellen’s younger brother, travelled to New Zealand with her and John.

ELLEN died 10 July 1887 at Little River aged 32

JOHN: John was possibly born around 5 November 1850, Currow, Kerry, Ireland, but I have no death certificate for him.

Their 7 Children (except Thomas) were all most probably born at Little River, Christchurch The children were:

THOMAS: born 22 October 1875 on board ‘SS Waitangi’. Married CLARA LOUISA KILGOUR, 22 December 1903. Thomas died 9 March 1950
After their mother died, all the children, except Thomas were sent to Burnham Industrial School in 1888 & 1889.

ELEANOR – born 10 July 1877, Married at Wellington, 4 January 1899, to ALBERT CHARLES WENDELKEN HITCHINGS. They had two daughters, GLADYS EILEEN (born 26 July 1899) and MYRTLE EUNICE (born 23 December 1900). Myrtle died aged 8 months 6 September 1901. Eleanor died on 14 October 1901 aged 24.

JOHN, Jnr:- born 2 May 1880. He also moved to Thames area and never married. He Died 26 July 1927.

CHARLES: - born 17 March 1882 Died 3 July 1899 at Christchurch Hospital aged 18 years.

DINAH- born 23 January 1883 Died .18 August 1883, aged 7 months.

JAMES: born 5 September 1884, Little River. He also moved to Thames area and married CLARA ALLEY in 1912. Died 17 Dec 1922,

MARY (MINNIE) KATHLEEN - born 24 May 1886. Married 5 September 1914 ALFRED SYDNEY HATHAWAY possibly in Fiji. Mary had a daughter ALPHA ELLEN LOUISE HATHAWAY born in New Zealand, 14 June 1915.
