Query regarding Family of Robert Sprott

On looking through the family list for Robert Sprott there is mention of a Margaret, born 1884, and a Jane, born
1888. No dates are given for their deaths. These would have been my Aunties, to the best of my knowledge these were not family of Robert Sprott. Any further comment would be appreciated and can be sent to colinsprott@hotmail.com.

Was your Robert SPROTT married to Margaret Agnes LAWRIE in New Zealand in 1876?
If so, Margaret and Jane were their children. Margaret died in 1884 aged 03 weeks,
but l'm not sure about Jane's death. There was a Jane SPROTT married in 1927 to Lindsay STUART, but I've found nothing to confirm if it's the same Jane.

cowisp on 2014-03-24 04:17:22Over the years I have had talks with my cousin,who recently passed away, about our family and she has never mentioned the names Margaret or Jane. We knew about Andrew who died at 6 months. Robert Sprott shifted from Green Island Bush to Momona about 1910 so any deaths should show up on the City of Dunedin cemetaries web site, however the only ones that do are the ones I knew about. I don't doubt your information but where did you get the names from. It's amazing what can turn up. I look forward to hearing more from you. Thanks, Colin.
tonkin on 2014-03-24 05:14:06I obtained my information from the New Zealand BDMs available online. The birth records clearly show that Robert and Margaret had fourteen children. I have just found some information on this family posted by ngairedith some time back. If you enter the name SPROTT in the search box above and click search it will take you to ngaireth's journal 'SPROTT marriages New Zealand 1871-1934'
ngairedith is the top New Zealand researcher here and may be able to assist you with further details.

the Margaret Sprott born in 1884 died aged 3 weeks & is buried in Plot 76, Block 3 at Green Island Cemetery, Dunedin with her parents and a born still baby in 1902
