My ancestors,g/father great uncles Alfred William,Herbert,Walter George Swallow all worked for the Railways in and around Yorkshire England.I have no information on which one,they were employed in the late 1800,s into the 1900,s THE noth east railway and the London Midland scottish lines were around at the time ,but Icant fin out anything.

In the 1901 census Herbert is listed as a Railway Engine Stoker, Rly E D. Not sure what the E.D stands for.

Yes thank you, that is my Great Uncle,I did have that iformation,Ijust cant find any records of when and what Railway they worked for
