Researching the LIVINGSTON's of Oregon, Florida, Canada, and ?
In my life I have heard stories of being directly related to the famous explorer Dr. Livingston who discovered Victoria Falls in Africa. Possibly more notable is the saying, "Doctor Livingston I presume?" which is the greeting given by his soon to be assistant/guide if Im not mistaken. I have never been certain whether the stories of our family being related to him are true or if they were just that....stories. Any light on the subject would be wonderful.

As we research our family trees, it is up to us to fact find. But we have to carefully work backwards from ourselves in order not to research the wrong family lineage.

A story that was always pasted down per generations regarding the Livingston (e) family. There is to my knowledge a Livingston that did live in the Toronto area who came from Scotland Don't know if this is the same family you talk of.
