Rihitoto Newton or Waretini
Kia ora my name is Edda Phyllis Noble. My Waikato family believes that:-
Rihitoto WETINI/NEWTON was the eldest child of my great grandfather John NOBLE of Waiuku, Waikato.
Rihitoto's mother was Amiria WETINI. We are told that Rihitoto married THOMPSON. They had no children of their own so they whangai Aubrey THOMPSON (nephew of Rihitoto's husband).
We have a family photo of Rihitoto and her father John NOBLE and others.
John Noble married my great grandmother Paeroa TE KOI who also had a daughter (Ihipera) prior to her marriage to John NOBLE. My grandfather Jack NOBLE is Rihitoto's half brother.
I'm doing my father's whakapapa so would like to include Rihitoto's information as well. I am also trying to trace the family of John NOBLE (Rihitoto's father). I have that his whakapapa is:
Mother: Raiharangihakume; Raiha; Rangihakume. Father: John NOBLE (snr - pakeha).
Unsucceeded shares of my grandparents and his siblings exsist in a block called Moerangi and we believe these shares come from John NOBLE mother Raiharangihakume.
Can anyone help me please? Also I would like to talk to those whanau who have posted Rihitoto Wetini whakapapa.
A te wa, Edda

Did Ihipera marry Te Tihi Raumati?
We had thought she was John Noble's daughter! Now we're wondering who her father really was.
Kia ora Averyl.
Rihitoto (b.c1863) was John Noble's daughter (prior to his marriage to Paeroa Tekoi)
Ihipera(b.c1890) was Paeroa Te Koi daughter (prior to her marriage to John Noble).
Yes, Pera married Summer Raumati.
I don't know Ihipera birth father name. I have not heard anyone say who "Pera" father was but I always heard about Rihitoto who went down Raglan way. The presumption is that there was no distinction and issue about Pera in and of the whanau.
Rihitoto and Ihipera (Pera) name were always spoken of in the context of "who my grandfather Jack's brothers and sisters were" ... the response was always started with "Rihitoto belonged to John Noble and Pera belonged to 'Kaka' before they got together."
Averyl. I have to apologise most profusely to you and the whanau.
John's daughter was 'RITIHIA" and she used to visit her sister Ihipera. I was looking thru my notes and am now RED with embarrassment.
Nah, too many names running around in my head.
My sincerest apologies whanaunga. Your tipuna kuia Ihipera is JOhn and Paeroa's daughter.
Ihipera's half sisters are Rihitoto and Ritihia (who cousin Lydia Noble/Kingi was named after).
Smack my hand and please forgive me.
Perhaps your whanau can shed some light on this Ritihia. (The name Matete Tamihana
and Rangirauaka Tamihana - female) are also associated with Ritihia Tamihana.
Hei konei
Edda Phyllis
Kia ora Edda, Interesting information as I've only known Nanny Rihitoto as a Newton from Te Remana & Amiria and her symblings being Charles, Keiha, Te Mori and Pera. Would be great to have a photo of Nan if that was possible. I never knew this Nanny but Ive loved her for years. In her love for the children of her siblings, as I know them, she left us all shareholdings in the block of land on which she lived. Would love to continue dialogue or even meet face to face. ko taku emera katarainaclarke@yahoo.co.nz
Kia ora Whanau, my Grandmother was Parehau Wehi nee Raumati. She also went by the name Polly or Grace. She was the daughter of Ihipera and Te Tihi Raumati. My Mum is Hilda (aka Sinee) Rangirauaka Grant nee Wehi. We had always wondered about Mum's name Rangirauaka and now I have link. Thank-you Edda for your hard work.
Kia ora
