Yes that would be wonderful to get his war record. So much about my Granfather I don't no. I do no he was born 1872, his married in 1900 & had 1. Child Benjamin Gurney Mattock B 1902 his wife died in 1903 & he then married my Granmother Jessie Brand Aldington. They had 6 children - my Father - Thomas being one.
Jessie left England - Australia 1917 with the 6 children they never returned to England. Robert Mattock died 1931 Edmonton.
There must have been a problem within the Mattock Family as Robert had a brother Francis & he was left the family business which went from bricklayers - brickmakers-master builders. I cannot find a will or probate for Robert, which seems to me very strange as this family seem to have been very prosperous.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, or where or with whom I could find out more about the Mattock Family. Jenny

Maria- many thanks for your response to my posting. I did try to email you with the address u gave me, and it came back with not knowing that email address. Iam extremely interested in any other information you might find as there seem to be something very wrong with these two mattock brothers - Francis & Robert. I do have abit more information on their Fathers Will.
