Thank you for your response.
Name I show is Richard Byrn, born 1675 jn Kilkenny Co. He had sons George, Thomas, Edmund, and Charles, and I believe immigrated to Virginia about 1720. His wife was Agnes Hanna, born 1678.

This is as far back as I could go, am aware that the name can also be spelled Byrne (descendants, mostly), Byrnes, O'Byrne(s) and O'Broin.

If you were asking if his given name could be spelled, Ruchard, I have no idea, it's a spelling I've not seen.

Any hints? Thanks, again.

Malie

I don't know anything about his parents but he married Agnes Hanna b:1678 his name was spelt BYRN one of his son's was George BYRNE born 1700 in Kilkenny George married in America in 1725 so the migration of the BYRN/BYRNE family from Kilkenny to Virginia would have been between 1700 and 1725 you could try this rootsweb site http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~irlkik/krecords.htm
or maybe Genuk

As an aside and off the track a bit, talking about Agnes HANNA. the HANNA's and HANNAH's of Ireland were decended from the HANNAY family of Galloway in Scotland. They began moving into Ireland in the 16th century. Some dropped the H some retained it. Hanna Castle also known as Sorbie Castle is in Galloway, Ayeshire. Google will probably bring it up.
