Samual Pennington born in Cheshire England
I'm looking for the Pennington line from England. What I already know is as follows:
Samual Pennington born in 1804 in Cheshire England was a shoemaker married Ann(sarah)? born 1803-05 and was a dress maker.
Their children were: Mary born 1831, Ann born 1833, John born 1840 and Thomas born 1843. John is my family line and lived in Manchester Lancashire England with Sarah(Adams) born 1838 in Cheadle Cheshire England, they were married at Bushey Herfordshire Eng on Feb 14 1864. John was a painter and Sarah was a cook. Sarah died young but can't find any info on the year or why?
Their children were: William born 1868, Charles born 1871 and Ernest Albert born 1879 in England. Ernest is my family line and immigrated to Canada in 1905 and had a home in Kindersley Sask in 1916. Ernest died 1952. Ernest married Hannah Knott born in 1878 Glossop Derby England and died Sept 1960-61.
Hannah Father was Danial Knott born in 1845 Glossop Died in 1886 in Hayfield England, he married Mary Higgenbottom born Feb 7 1844 and lived in Glossop Derbyshire Eng. Mary's sibling was Henry born 1838 and died 1906. Mary had 2 stepsisters from her mothers pervious marriage?
Mary's mother was Mary Robinson born 1806 in Cheshire Eng and on June 20 1836 married Issac Higgenbottom born 1815 Hollingshead Derbyshire Eng.Issac was a night watchman at the cotton factory, and Mary(nee Robinson) was a cotton weaver, and the girls were cotton spinners.
Danial Knotts parents were: Joseph Knott born 1815 in Hattersley Cheshire England and Nancy(nanny)Robinson born 1816 Croden Brook Cheshire Eng. **(I would love to know if Nancy Robinson was related at all to Mary Robinson as the two families are so close in working in the factory and birthplaces and because joseph and nancy were married so young on Sept 21 1828, he was 13 and she 12yrs old??)They were both cotton weavers in Hayfield.
I WOULD LOVE ANY MORE INFO TO FILL IN MISSING PIECES AND TO CONFIRM I HAVE IT EXACTY RIGHT. I REALLY WANT TO COMPLETE THESE LINES AS FAR BACK AS I POSSIBLY CAN.

This could possibly be Sarah's death - she is on the 1881 Census with John and children but John is Widow on 1891

Pennington Sarah 54 Chorlton 8c 583
Do you have the Birth Certificates for John & Sarah's Children - it looks like Ernest Albert was born in 1878 not 1879.

Marriage for Charles unfortunately there is only one female but two males listed, you would need to purchase this certificate to find out his spouse.
Marriages Jun 1891 (>99%)
Pennington Charles Herbert Chorlton 8c 1144
Charles is on the 1911 England Census with wife Mary and children, married 20 years, 7 children, 5 living 2 deceased.
Ernest Albert is on the 1901 Census with Hannah and his father John - looks like John died between 1901 and 1911 Census possibly before Ernest & Hannah left for Canada in 1905.
This could be a possibility as it's the right age and area

Marriage for Ernest & Hannah
Marriages Mar 1900 (>99%)

Have you seen the 1911 Canadian census for Ernest & Hannah, he is listed as Albert and his arrival date is 1902 it differs slightly from the 1916 Census, but wife Hannah, sons Archie, Jack (John) and Irvine, are the same, it does say all children born Mann, but Archie & John were born in England.

Thanks so much, no I don't have any birth certificates, just paid for apx 8months of research on ancestry.ca/com/uk...found all my info there, that plus what my mom has filled me in on.
Yes, I thought that might be Sarah's death year as well, it fits with the timeline for sure.
I will modify my tree a bit to either or birth dates for Ernest Albert.
Are you any relation to this/our family here? I might have info or pics you might like?
many thanks for your reply and hope to talk soon.

I'm not related I just like to help where I can.

The marriage certificate for Ernest Albert Pennington & Hannah Knott 1900

Hello Asheppard,
Yes, it looks like all the information you found is what I have except for the last name of nancy and their marriage date. May I ask where you found the parish record on this marriage? I didn't find a marriage date on ancestry for them, but I did find, what i thought, was josephs marriage date on "familysearch", I typed in Josephs birthdate and that came up, and seens how it was the right first name "nancy" then that's how I got Nancy's last name Robinson. Hmmm..I will wait to see where you found this marriage info and I'll check it out too.
thanks a million
marilyn
The Parish information I found is at this site.

It did seem too young for Joseph & Nanny (Nancy) to be married at 12 & 13 years old but it is possible you would need to check the image record for both of the marriages to rule one or both out, and Nanny instead of Nancy is consistent throughout the Census and her death.
The best thing to do would be get a copy of Daniels Birth certificate to check the parents names and go from there.
