Seeking DENYERS in England

Journal by mizmlu

My late husband's grandfather was Freeman William Valentine Denyer b 14 Feb 1867 in Southwark, Surrey. At the age of 16 he was apprenticed to a bookbinder, Joseph Taylor Davall, for 4 years during which time he learned to apply goldleaf to the edges of books. He immigrated to the US in 1893 and married Grace Estelle Spriggs 21 Jun 1899 in Chicago, IL. He d 10 Nov 1935.

Freeman's father was William Alfred Denyer b 11 Mar 1830 in Camberwell, S.L. He married Amelia Penglaze 24 Oct 1852. Amelia was b 13 Apr 1841 in Cornwall and d 12 Jan 1893 in London. As far as I can discover Freeman was their only child, but I have found references to Harry who gave information on Amelia's death certificate.

William Alfred's parents were John Henry Denyer and Jame Hockham m 4 Feb 1824 in Horsham, Sussex.

Obviously I would love to confirm the existence of the other son, Harry and more data to further my search.

hello.....my grandfather(Henry Denyer, born 1886 Hambledon Surrey, came from the union of another Henry(Harry) Denyer, who was married to a Jane Childs. He may well be the brother of your Freeman Denyer.
