You are so right. I did not put dates in the original post....I am very new to this. Point taken.

Your work on Owen Orr Morgan and the lodge is spot on, I suspect. I have seen elsewhere indications of his membership, and his father's too. Sandridge is where he lived for much of his adult life.

His birth and death registration details are as I understand them to be.

Letitia Morgan McNamara was from Preston, Victoria, Australia. Her marriage registration is as you present it.

There appears to be no registration details of her birth, or of her sister Annie, my great-grandmother, for that matter. Best guess is that Letitia Morgan was born in or close to Melbourne, in 1886 given she died in 1917 at age 31.

Thanks for the birth details of Letitia Antony and Annie Morgan (Mergan).
I'm not sure the dates line up for Letitia Antony (1880) to be Letitia McNamara since the latter was Annie's younger sister.
The Mergan post looks to be red hot since the other names are all good.

** this means who ever registered the Death was unsure of her age but guessed 31. Or the Letitia Antony Ellen Morgan Birth Date 04 Sep 1880 also a daughter to Owen Orr & Ellen Morgan died between 1880 & 1886 and a second daughter was called Letitia Mary Morgan. I cannot find a death for Letitia Antony Ellen Morgan between 1880 - 1886.

Letitia Morgan McNamara died while her mother was alive, so I take it as fairly accurate that she was around 31.
And I do know that when she died, Ellen Morgan's death certificate (1926) recorded only the two daughters who had lived long enough to have children, Annie (Morgan) Smith and Lettie McNamara (whose death registration names her as L. Mary).

This adds to a pattern of naming in the Morgan family, many Letitia Morgans, include my late mother. I wonder if there was a much favoured grandmother Letitia Morgan back in Ireland

Arithmetic suggests that this Letitia Morgan's birth must have been in 1879 or late 1888. So she is not the Letitia Antony Ellen Morgan born 4 September 1880, nor is she Letitia Mary Morgan, later McNamara. Owen and Ellen look to have named 3 daughters Letitia.

Re Births.

Letitia Antony Ellen MORGAN.

These births do not appear in the Victorian Birth Records so it would appear the births were not registered. Victorian birth indexes only give 'year and place' of birth and not full dates, including baptisms.

Those dates I think I've seen on Ancestry.com

The Mergan one is very very tantalising; all given names are word perfect (except Rugh for Rurh, our Annie's middle name) and if the "o" of Morgan is misread as the "e" of Mergan, it's spot-on. for Annie Morgan.

Letitia Antony Ellen Morgan is not the Letitia (Morgan) McNamara of my original posting, since she was Annie's younger sister and looks to have been born around 1886, though records are elusive.
