My name is Joyce Patton I am a descendent of the Parker and Walker families. My family has lived in Polk County, Texas for more than 100 years. Thus far I have partially traced the Parker branch of my family back about five generations. The oldest ancestors I have identified thus far are my great-great-great grand parents Charles Parker and his wife whose first name was Violet both were reportedly born in 1800 in Virginia. I have no idea what Violet's maiden name was. In my search I found an individual I believe to be the Charles Parker I am looking for in the 1880 census. He is listed as (other) in the household of Joe White in Louisiana, I have not been able to get any additional information. I also found Violet in the 1880 census in the household of her son Charles W. Parker in Polk County, Texas.

Charles W. Parker my great-great grandfather is reported as having been born in Virginia in 1828. His wife was Christine (Christina), last name unknown was born in Georgia in 1835. At some point before 1862 the family came to Polk County which is where my great-grandfather David Parker was born, I am providing the information I have collected on Polk County Parker's and Walker's I have uncovered.

Though Mattie, David and their children were born in Polk County, Texas the family fled to Guthrie County Oklahoma, in fear of losing their lives. They both died and are interned in Guthrie Oklahoma.

At some point after 1879 Pleasant and Minerva were divorced. Minerva then had three more children:
Bessie and Dessie Mayo who were twins, they were born in Polk County, Texas in 1892
Jeffery Mayo was born in Polk County, Texas in 1893 Minerva also married King Roberts in Polk County. I have also discovered a reference to a marriage to Jeffery Mayo who is identified in some records as the father of her younger children.
