Archibald Harris appears in the 1850 Fayette Co Illinois census as born 1773 North Carolina with a wife Cheney born 1775 North Carolina. He had many children, 5 of whom we have definitely proven and at least 6 more without definite proof.

From where in North Carolina did he come? He came first to Christian County, Kentucky with a wife Sarah, possibly Sarah Hays. Several of his children were born in Christian County. Then he moved to Hamilton Co, Illinois where he was a Methodist preacher.

When he came to Fayette Co is not known, buthe was living there in 1850.

We do not know when or where he died or where he is buried.
