It is likely that most are descendants of Abraham & Joanna Kescel who arrived into New Plymouth, Taranaki on the ESSEX in Jan 1843, having left Plymouth England on 2 Sep 1842 with their children Pascoe aged 9, Elizabeth aged 7 and Maria aged 4. The family moved to Raglan 11 years later and is where Abraham died in Sept 1897 aged 91
