His father Henry William Burns was born in Boston Lincolnshire in 1832 arrived in SA about 1850.
He married Helen Bell May (born in ? Scoland ) at Hynam 13 January then selected land around Edenhope. My grandfather Henry Wiliam 1857-1888 was the first of 10 children. I have only 8 listed.
I am very keen to know more about them, also any information about life in those times, i.e from 1850s.

Many thanks again, very helpful.
Probably they were all born in Victoria. I have that the first 3 were born at Lake Wallace Station.

Searches today only located the births of four children for Henry BURNS and Helen (aka Ellen) May.
James BURNS.
Born: 1859 Apsley, Victoria.
William BURNS.
Born: 1867 Edenhope, Victoria.
Ellen May BURNS.
Born: 1871 Edenhope, Victoria.
Samuel BURNS.
Born: 1874 Edenhope, Victoria.
The given names recorded at birth (above) vary from the ones you have but that is not unusual.
When David May BURNS married Mary SHAW he gave his birth place as Penola, which is in South Australia. I searched the South Australian births again but there is no birth recorded for David.
I have found most of the deaths and marriages for Henry and Helen's children but it will take a few more days of record searches before I can compile a family record for Henry and Helen.
I will let you know when I get things sorted out.
Cheers.
Thank you, much appreciated !!
I'm curious too if Jane Shaw & Mary Shaw were sisters or ?
Regards
