I am researching George Strickland (Born 1822- died 1906) married Margaret McKee (born 1823- died 1899) married 25th January 1847. Cannot find enything prior to this information for George Strickland. I think Margaret McKee fathers name was Cann Mc Kee but cannot confirm.
I can confirm they were married in Belfast (Newtownards) Northern Ireland. Can also confirm their son James Strickland, my great grandfather arrived in Australia in 1870 on the ship ‘Crusader’.
To the best of my knowledge George Strickland was a weaver. Would love to hear from anyone who is connected to this line of the Strickland family from Newtownards Northern Ireland.
