William Gowan and Elizabeth Ritchie born circa 1797 had (3 children found so far) Robert born 1820, Cecilia born 1822 and Elizabeth born 1835. With the gap in D.O.B between Cecilia and Elizabeth then I am sure that there are more children. However , Cecilia Gowan is my great, great Grandmother and she was born 1822 in Bervie, Kincardine . Cecilia Gowan married John alexander in Benholm, Kincardine in 1850. John alexander was born 1827. Cecila and John had several children. Jean Anne, Elizabeth,Cecilia, Joann,William, John, Robert and Anne. Cecilia Alexander ,( My great grandmother ) married a Joseph Wood.They had children by the name of William wood, Joseph Wood , Peter Wood and Betsy Gowan wood,(Possibly several more children, however have only been able to find the names listed. ) Betsy Gowan Wood ( grandmother) was born in Nether Tulloch , Garvock, Kincardine 27th June 1886.
