On the 6th May 1832 a Nicholas Guilfoyle was married in Roscrea, he was from Birr, however his wife's name is not given. It is possible that this is your missing ancestor?

Thank you so much. I’m so pleased to have had someone answer one of my posts.
Yes, highly likely that this is my relative. I have seen that, was so disappointed to find wife’s name missing. My thoughts are Nicholas went to Canada. I have found a Nicholas passing away in an institution in Canada. Susans marriage cert says father Nicholas, but, her death cert says father Matthew. Her husband completed the death cert so if he thought it was Matthew, perhaps she did have a brother Matthew.
I have found a Matthew no birth date, Mary born 1839 and a John no birth date. I think Catherine is a highly likely to be my Susan’s sister having travelled with her to Australia as a famine orphan. Susan was involved in Catherines early life in Australia.
Unable to find anything on Margaret Guilfoyle, Nicolas’s wife, thought to be Margaret Phillips. Can’t find any mention of the family in Ireland. Such a frustrating brick wall. Again thank you for responding.
Cheers
