This is an absolute must site guys for researching ancestors.
It is actually quite huge, more than meets the eye on this home page, or send them a message and they will lead you in the right direction.

Just wondering if you are still researching as this is a very old post. I have proof of what you're asking.
I am a descendant of tahana marupo I'm just looking for a connection to other marupo lines if anyone knows thank you.
Tahana Marupo had 2 brothers - Wiremu Reihana Marupo and Taniora Kowhai who lays in Pakanae urupa, he took his father's name. I am from Wiremu's line. There is a fb group for the descendants of Tahana Marupo (Dawson).
What is the connection to marupo from ngati kawa or ngati rahiri and oromahoe? If thier is one? I've heard that he was the grandfather of tahana marupo and his brothers not too sure though...and if so what is the connection to kaihu? And even whakatane as thier a marupos that carry the name down thier...sorry for too many questions just looking to put the puzzle peices in the right place kia ora.
"He was the grandfather of Tahana Marupo and his brothers".
Who are you referring to?
Wiremu Reihana Marupo was born in Kaihu. His connection is Reihana Marupo.
I was referring to marupo who signed the treaty at waitangi was that tahana marupo? Reihana marupo or another marupo?
I am a descendant of tahana marupo I'm just looking for a connection to other marupo lines if anyone knows thank you.
Umm, are you not on the whanau page? The whakapapa table is on there.
Thier seems to be different versions of the whakapapa?
Thier seems to be different versions of the whakapapa?
Oh. Odd because it's from the signatories of the Treaty.
I just have the one where it goes back to kaharau and rahiri doesn't have all of tahana marupos siblings on it almost as if part of it was cut out.
Do you have a copy of the marupo whakapapa?
Yes, helps to know the korero that goes with the table. All the lines are intrinsically related. The general rule of thumb is that the tables follow through the ones who had received the birthright. Hope that helps?
Is it possible to add you on fb to show you the whakapapa I have and to learn off the one you have end of the day I just want to learn so I can pass the knowledge on to my kids and so forth
Look for Descendants of Tahana Marupo group on fb. Ask to join the group. You may need to recite your pepeha. From there, ask the questions. The whakapapa tables (2) that I have is from that group. I think you have the same ones but I am not the one to answer your questions. I am a descendant of Wiremu Reihana Marupo and so that is the line that I am trying to follow. I have those whakapapa tables so that I have a guideline to work from with my research. My research is not on the Treaty signatories but my direct bloodline. (I have gaps to fill).
So what is your direct bloodline? Doesant your whakapapa interlink with the tahana marupo line??? Or you just dont wanna share what you know in further detail???
Lol. From the questions you've asked throughout this conversation, our research objectives are different. Really, the best place for any of us to learn our whakapapa is on the marae is what I meant.
Ahh yes I agree...on the marae sorry i misinterpreted certain things you were saying...but how different though? What are your main motivations to learning???
I'm LDS, aka Mormon and I don't need permission from living relatives to do temple ordinances for my direct bloodline (Wiremu Reihana Marupo)but I do need permission to do temple ordinances of his siblings lines etc e.g. Tahana Marupo and Taniora Te Kowhai. So, my research objective and intentions with whakapapa learned is different.
