Tappers of Borobridge

Question by stevec277

Hi do you have any information on a Catherine Tapper born around 1876. She was a sister to Robert, Alfred and Jim Tapper. She married a Abraham Smith. I have tried to trace her on family link, but unable to find any records.

Best wishes

Hi Stephen,

May I suggest that you share with us some more information on Catherine Tapper as where was she born? Also, if you know the name of her parents, then that will be of some help also. The more information you can give will help connect with the right family.

Best wishes in your research.

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. I have very little information regarding her parents. Her mother's pet name was Govness and she was born 29th August 1876, Bororbridge, St. Anns, Jamaica, West Indies. As far I know she was sister to Stephen Alfred Tapper, Henry Tapper, James (JIm) Tapper, Charles Tapper, Robert (Robbie) Tapper. I suspect her father was James LeFort Tapper, but I am unsure of her mother.
Kind regards
Stephen

Maybe if you check the Jamaica Gleaner archives you might get some info.
Robert Tapper was my great grandfather and there are 4 of his 15 kids are still alive.
