Reuben RELF was born 15 January 1853 in East Barming, Kent, England the 3rd of 9 (known) children of Richard RELF & Mary Anne JONES
- he emigrated on the GLEANER in 1857 with his parents

April 1879 he was the 1st person in Manawatu to have ever been charged with riding his horse on the footpath and was fined 5s as a warning to others as the Council had gone to considerable expense in making the footpaths (equivalent in April 2010 to $1.27)

September 1884 he was a Blacksmith in Palmerston North, buying the business off W. T. Wood

1896 he swapped his section for 150 acres in Te Kapu in
- (90km NW of Palmerston North)

1899 his children Isa & Clement were attending the Poukiore School near Hunterville

1908 he was in Oroua (Manawatu-Wanganui Region)

1909 the children are attending Makino School

1926 he was a Farmer in Mahoe (50km S of New Plymouth)

Reuben died in 1926 in Stratford, Taranaki aged 74 and is buried in Te Henui in an unknown location

Martha Vaughan DILLON was born 18 July 1858 in Greytown, Wairarapa to John Fredrick DILLON & Maria VAUGHAN, both from Wales
