Hi Corrections to daughter/child #3 - Letty Elizabeth Coe
Walter Edward YEWEN & Letty Elizabeth COE had 9 children all born in Pahiatua.
They are my great grandparents see my journals for more info.

by barbidoll on 2012-10-11 18:31:35

I was born in Pahiatua 1942. I can clearly recall Walter Yewan(1898-1977). His taxi stand was by the gardens opposite the Regent Theatre in Main Street. The Pahiatua railway station was at Mangamutu, several miles out of town so he had a busy business in those days. He was a true gentleman .....opened the taxi door for ladies and carried parcels to the door! I think he probably had his business until the early 60's.

Just found this - haven't looked into my genealogy for ages but Florence Coe was my great grandmother. I have photos of her with her father when they emigrated to NZ, of her husband George Matthews and family, of Andy and heaps more. I will spend time digesting this before writing again.

thanks calinrae,

would great to see some photos of this family

by calinrae on 2013-03-03 22:26:52

I could proably fill in details of Florence (Matthews) and Harriet ( Swan) as the family of these two remained reasonably close. I am new to this website -what is the best way to do it? How can I send you photos?

by ngairedith on 2013-03-03 22:41:46

well, I was thinking that you could post a journal of your own adding all the family you want and then adding a photo (this site supports one photo per page), so if you want to add more photos attach them to relevant postings
then we will have lots of info on your ancestors for other researchers to find :)
