Reverend Charles Daniel de Castro was born in Knightsbridge, near London, in 1832

- Charles emigrated to New Zealand on the CORNWALL landing in Wellington on 13 August 1853

- he married Constantia/Constance SALISBURY of Middleton, Lancashire on 27th August 1853 in St Paul's Wellington
- Constantia emigrated on the Cornwall at the same time as Charles, with her brother Edward Lister/Lester Salisbury & their married sister Mary Ellen VYVYAN and her family
- Constantia died 11 months later in childbirth, (24th July 1854), at Apsley House Academy, Wellington (an elimentary school that Charles had established in their residence)

- he married Isabella KNOX (1833-1889) at the residence of William Waring TAYLOR (Isabella's brother-in-law) in Wellington in 1855 and they had *8 sons & 6 daughters
- Isabella was a daughter of Dr Frederick John Knox (1794-1873) & Margaret RUSSELL of Edinburgh Scotland (they died in Wellington)
- Isabella died aged 56 at Nairn St, Mt Cook, Wellington and is buried in Bolton St Memorial Park, Wellington wth her daughter Mary Elizabeth

- he married Amelia BULL (1844-1924) in 1890
- Amelia was a daughter of Mr. Edward Bull of Dublin, proprietor and publisher of ?The Warder? newspaper
