MARRIAGE SUCKLING - WYCHERLEY - On the 13th September, at Wellington, A. E. Suckling, fifth son of John Suckling, of Christchurch, to Mercy, G. Wycherley, youngest daughter of C. W. Wycherley, of Wellington

- Ernest Arthur Sucking was a son of:

John SUCKLING (1854-1918) & Sarah Cornelia MILLS (1850-1901)
- they were 1 of 3 Suckling brothers who married 3 Mills sisters in Christchurch


- DEATH SUCKLING, On Dec 19 1902, at her residence, corner of Gloucester Street, and Stanore Road, Sarah Cornelia, beloved wife of John Suckling, of the firm of Suckling Bros; in her fifty-first year. Deeply regretted
- John remarried in 1904 to Jane Greenhill BEST (1845-1918)
- DEATH Mr John Suckling, well known throughout the Dominion to all engaged in the boot and leather trade, died last week. He was born in London in 1854 (sic, believe that should read 1845 as John was aged 72 when he died), and in 1871 he nd his brother started in business in Christchurch as boot manufactureres

1877 - 1952 Frederick William Suckling
- Frederick married Edith Priscilla GOSS (1887-1972) in 1909
- Edith was a daughter of James GOSS & Priscilla IVORY (1851-1936). Priscilla's brother, John Ivory, had a daughter Ellen who married Clement Whittingham Wycherley (see #7)

1878 - 1879 Charles Leonard Suckling
- Charles died aged 4 months

1880 - 1955 Frank Henry Suckling
- In December 1892 Frank was in Standard V of the West Christchurch school and won a prize for Proficiency
- he married Isabella Graham LAYTON-SMITH (1886-1972) in 1909
- Isabella was born in Canterbury
- she was a daughter of Thomas & Margaret LAYTON-SMITH

1881 - 1920 Herbert Norman Suckling
- nothing known except, in 1892 Hebert was in the First Class of West Christchurch School and received a prize for 'regular attendance'

1882 - Cornelia Charlotte Suckling
- Cornelia married Andrew Walter HEATH (1880-1973) in 1917
- Andrew was 1 of at least 9 children of Theophilus Butterworth HEATH (1844-1922 himself 1 of 9 children, to Job Heath & Lydia Mercy Butterworth) & Christina GENTLES (1853-1925)

1884 - 1983 Ernest Arthur Suckling
- Ernest married Mercy Gertrude WYCHERLEY as above

1886 - Amy Frances Suckling
- Amy married Henry MacKintosh CONYNGHAM in 1913
- Henry was the 3rd of 10 children of John CONYNGHAM & Annie Susanna
- Henry's sister Annie married Amy's brother Nathaniel (below)

1887 - 1969 Nathaniel Alexander Suckling
- Mathaniel married Annie Jane Glenney CONYNGHAM in 1914
- Annie was the 4th of 10 children of John CONYNGHAM & Annie Susanna CLEARY
- Annie's brother Henry married Nathaniel's sister Amy (above)

1890 - 1975 Horace Edwin Suckling
- Horace married Margaret Rebecca McCALLUM (1890-1965) 5 Jan 1916
MARRIAGE - SUCKLING-McCALLUM, At Blenheim, on January 5th, 1916; Horace, younget son of Mr John Suckling, of Christchurch, to Margaret, fourth daughter of the late Mr Duncan McCallum
- Margaret was the 10th of 12 children of Duncan McCALLUM (1839-1909) & Janet 'Jessie' DALZIEL (1851-1931) from Scotland to Blenheim
