The West and Hatten Connection

Journal by jackie031341

My gggrandfather, Thomas West left North Carolina in the 1840's and traveled southeast. He arrived in Mississippi and married Mary Allen. Then they went on south to Louisiana and settled in Rapides Parish. They were the parents of six children (four girls and two boys) Thomas died about 1863 (possibly in the Civil War) Mary remarried and the children stayed together living in Rapides Parish in 1870. Except Mary Lavina, the oldest girl who married Ishom Hatten in 1866. They moved to Winn Parish, Louisiana. Her sister Nancy married George Labarg and and moved to Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. Mary Lavina West and Ishom Hatten were my ggrandparents
