Thomas Broddel of Market Stainton Lincolnshire
Thomas Broddel lived in the tiny village of Market Stainton in Lincolnshire with his wife Sarah. They had had 8 children including twins, in fact the family had numerous twins in later generations but this has seemed to have now petered out.
Sadly the children died at various intervals living only 3 to survive. I am a direct descendant of the eldest son Thomas born 1820 but he too died at an early age in 1852 leaving 2 sons and a baby daughter who also died around the same time as her father.
I can trace the line of eldest son Thomas to present day.
Thomas and Sarah's daughter twin Ann can be traced but his eldest daughter Mary is a mystery. She is on the 1841 census H.O.107/645 fOLIO 5 where the family name is shown as Broddal, as age 21 but does not appear on the 1851 census nor does she appear in the parish records for Market Stainton either for her baptism, marriage or burial. This makes me think the family moved to Market Stainton shortly after the marriage of Thomas and Sarah with baby daughter Mary but I have not been able to find any details.
