William Samuel Cox, the owner of the Moonee Valley Racecourse and Maribynong racecourse was a grazier from Moonee Ponds b:1831 d:2 October 1895 at his home in Moonee Ponds of heart disease.
When he died he left ?74,656 to his wife and children. Now they're the sort of relatives you'd want to have. I don't believe anyone has attempted to construct his family tree. If they have I have not seen it. Just the son's names and achievements. I have thought about doing it! I might give it a go this weekend.
It's quite possible your Thomas is related; the right area and all that.
