Dear nbjess, Hi. The only way I think you will find parents names of your Thomas William Sharp(e) is to get somebody to do a parish registry lookup at Rootschat - FREE Genealogy Research . Goto the England board - Leicester and post a new topic (after you have registered as a free user).
"Parish Registry Lookup Request SHARP(E) family Leagrave" and include all known information.
All other details should be on census details 1841 through to 1901.
You could also try looking yourself at the various family tree websites on the internet:-
tribalpages
rootsweb
gencircles
geneanet
genesreunited
Just google and you will find websites.
Kind regards,
Alison

Thank you very much Nick, I really appreciate the information. Do you know who was the father of William bc1827 or Ann bc1827 I can not get back any further than this.
The best way is to purchase a month's subscription on www.ancestry.co.uk for ?10
This gives us unlimited access to census, birth, death & marriage records from 1841 to 1901.
Also have a look on www.familysearch.org
This site is used to source info prior to 1841 but does also include info after that period.
I found the following info there.
William's parents were William Sharp & Catharine
He was christened 19/2/1827 in Seagrave.
I'm not entirely sure when he was married however the records show a William Sharpe married to Hannah Widdowson on 24/7/1748 in Sileby.
This could indeed the record because Sileby is only a mile or so from Seagrave.
The initial info I provided came from a 1861 census, however it may be that Hannah had the nickname Ann, something quite common in those days.
You can also search surnames from a specific county - Widdowson shouldn't be that common in Leics.
Cheers
Nick
Marriage date with Hannah Widdowson is 1848 however I'm not certain this is the correct record.
I dug a bit more.
A William Sharp married Catherine Baines on 3/4/1826 at Seagrave

So William Sharp who married Hannah (Ann) he wasn't known as William, he was called England Sharp.
