Tracing Herty Suter 1867
I am trying to find out information regarding one of my ancestors, her name is Herty Suter born 1867 in East Meon, Hampshire. England.
According to the Census of 1871 she is 4 years old, her Father is William Thomas Suter a Smiths Engine driver.
Her Mother is Elizabeth Suter her maiden name was Hart, and brother William John Suter aged 3.
The Census was taken in 1871 from the Parish of Chilcomb, Sub District was Twyford, Registration District of Winchester.
This is the only information that I have, I just don't seem to be able to find out anymore info. from any later Census, Marriage or Death.
If anyone has any information or can shed some light on my research I would be most grateful.
Kind Regards

Thank you Noggin for your brilliant reply, very much appreciated, you are spot on with the census.
I thought Thomas and Elizabeth had two children, Herty whom I have had trouble finding details of and have no information at all, I know all about William but I didn't know that they had a third child so if you have any information about Herty and the third child that would be brilliant.
Kind Regards

1871 transcribed her name as Harty.
have you looked at this BMD entry on freebmd.org.uk
it could be a possible
Births Dec 1868
SUTER Florence Harriet Fareham 2b 544
There is also this marriage
Marriages Mar 1895
Hartnup George Wallingford 2c 439
Suter Florence Harriet Wallingford 2c 439
and on the 1911 Census it states that she was born in Wickham Hampshire
You would need to get a copy of the birth to find out if it's the right person.
I couldn't find any of the family after 1871 Census and Before the 1911 Census the surname may have been transcribed incorrectly making it difficult to locate.
This looks like Harty's parents wedding and it looks like Harty was named after mothers maiden name so she may have other chrisren names.

asheppard, thank you so much for all your investigation work as I seemed to have hit a brick wall, especially with the mispelling of Suter. I have now added all the information onto my Family Tree. If there is anything that I can help with please let me know.

I can't find any birth for Harriet Suter in any county for 1666-1868.
There is a birth for Harriet Hart Pewsey Wiltshire I wonder if Harriet is Elizabeth's daughter and was actually born before her marriage to William.
Have a look at this birth it may be worth getting a copy to check the details
In 1861 Elizabeth was a servant with the Miles family in Pewsey.
Births Sep 1866
Hart Harriet Pewsey 5a 151
and get a copy of William John Suter's birth as well and his marriage if you want to go down that line.
Ii is always good to double check any information and to get copies of the marriages and birth certificates. It may be the wrong family entirely.
The marriage for William Thomas Suter & Elizabeth Hart will give you Elizabeth's fathers name and his occupation and possibly more details on Elizabeth.
Thank you asheppard for the information, I agree with what you say about Harriet being Elizabeths daughter and being born before her marriage to William, hence the name Harty. I will do what you say and get a copy of her birth, plus copies of William John's birth and marriage.
Kind Regards
