Dear Patience,

The NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages has two marriage records for Alfred J.E. LLOYD in the same year, same registration number - bride Nora KENNA and Nora THOMAS, so perhaps she was married previously or a widow.

Alfred J.C. LLOYD and Norah (Nora) had 6 children:-

1.Norah LLOYD born 1896 Walgett NSW
2.John LLOYD born 1898 Walgett NSW
3.Norman LLOYD born 1901 Walgett NSW (possible firstborn twin)
4.Alfred LLOYD born 1901 Walgett NSW (possibly 2nd born twin going by registration number)
5.Lucy M. LLOYD born 1905 Walgett NSW
6.Norman LLOYD born 1906 Walgett NSW

NB: Norah LLOYD possibly died 1945 Petersham, daughter of Richard & Norah. Alfred John C. LLOYD possibly died 1955 Burwood, son of John LLOYD.

Thank you for your interest Hal. The "Clear" may not have been an error, as my G Grandmother (1846-1929). Norah Kenna ,s maiden name was Clear & at least one of the children has it for a second name .Have you been looking into this family or have just come across them in your travels. regards Chris

To chrismon and Patience,

Just saw your messages re Lloyd and Kenna family from Walgett. My mother was Lucy Lloyd, youngest daughter of Honor (as my mother told me that was her name, their eldest daughter was called Nora) and Alfred Lloyd. They lived on a property outside Walgett called Lady Smith. My grandfather, Alfred Lloyd, was the bandmaster of the Walgett band and played the clarinet. I am happy to pass on what information I have, albeit a bit limited. My mother was the last surviving child of Honor and Alfred and passed away in 1994 at the age of eighty-nine. My mother was an outstanding woman, as was her eldest sister, Nora, married name Mills.

Regards,

Dawn
