Trying to trace Richard Thomas who emmigrated from Wales to Australia before 1900.He married Johanna Harkness Hunter in Melbourne Victoria in 1900.He died in 1932, aged 72 or 75 in Footscray Victoria and is buried in the Footscray cemetery. born 1855-60
He was both a carpenter and a miner (or gold assayer) I think. This man was my grandfather(although I never knew him and my father did not speak of him) and I believe that he came from the Carnavon area in Wales taken from his marriage certificate. It seems that he had been in Australia for about 71 years. His death certificate and his marriage certificate differ in the naming of his mother . his marriage certificate says his mother was Elizabeth Owen (or Orren, or Orrin) but the death certificate says his mother's name was Anne.
The marriage certificate has his fathers name as Richard Thomas and his occupation Army officer.
I have been searching for a long time but I cannot break through
any assistance would be appreciated.
