i am tracing the montgomery families form fermanagh ireland.this is my paternal family.
george montgomery was born in county clay fermanagh in 1815 he was teh son of charles montgomery and mary?goerge was a gardener.he married elizabeth montgomery 1819 th edaughter of william montogomery 1785 and cahterine scott.elizabeth was born in drumharriff.goerge and elizabeth eloped in 1842 .they moved to bothwell in lanarkshire scotland with two children william 1844 and mary 1844c.
george was now a miner.they then had eight more children born in blantrye lanarkshire

william 1844 married jean black in 1871,she was 23 and from airdrie .

their son andrew 1876 was born in blantyre.he was like his father a miner. andrew married christina ormiston on aug 28th 1903 in newcraighall edinburgh.christina was 21.

william(grandad)was born in blantyre in 1904 in gardiner place.he was a miner to.one of fourteen siblings
william married mary allan stewart tennant on 29th april 1932.mary was the daughter of mary jane stewart a domestic nurse fom edzell,mary wsa born on dec 14th 1906 in edinburgh and adopted by the tennants.
