Julius was angered when he was promised land (be used for his cotton plantation) and was later retracted by the native owner who decided to charge Julius $6 a month to use.

Julius Schwenke was consul of United States of America working in American Samoa. Much of his work was to oversee Law & Order. According to documents and letters between Julius, his colleagues, U.S Embassy, Julius had no affection for the people of Samoa sometimes reflecting a racist tone in some of his letters (very disappointing to learn) as I am a Samoan descendant of Julius Schwenke.


Julius Schwenke whose brothers were Oscar 1822-1899 and Asher 1832-1863.

Julius married Catherine and had Charles 1851-1896 and Kate 1857. As consulate to the United States of America living in American Samoa, Upolu and Savai'i married Peleise Nanae/Gaga'e (parents Se'e Nafoi (father) Maleka (mother) had 7 children one of them being my great great great grandfathers, John Schwenke whose siblings were Charles, Emma, William, Mary, Pepe and Alfred Schwenke.
