I'm researching the Mattingley family in Australia & thier origins. My mother was a Mattingley and I have an extensive chart of Mattingley's throughout Australia and the UK. My Mattingley's came out to Melbourne Australia in 1852 during the gold rush they were responsible for starting the 1st shcools in Melbourne a lot of the Mattingley's are still teachers today.
Over the years of my research I have discovered that most of the Mattingley's in Australia are related in some way to this family.
I Have Mattingley Families in Victoria, 2 branches in QLD and 1 I only found this week in Newcastle NSW
My hopes for my Mattingley family tree is to be able to eventially link all of the Australian family together for future generations.
The earliest Mattingley's that I have linked to my chart is 1628 in England I also hope to be able to go back further with this reseach over the next couple of years. There are lots of old photos and other information available on my chart if anyone wants to share
