My family roots lead me to Franklin (Raleigh NC), Hanover VA, Charleston SC and Savannah Georgia.
I am searching for parents of OA (Oliver Asbury) Kelley whose parents died in a pandemic in Savannah Georgia leaving him orphaned and living with maternal relatives. I would like to make the Irish connection and discover his mother's name who was listed on a census as being born in VA. My greatgrandmother, Caroline Louise Gehrs, came to Charleston, SC from Germany as a house helper at the age of 16 in 1859 from Bramstedt, Germany. I would love to know which ship she arrived on and who her parents were in Germany. October 19, 2011
