We first obtained an interest in family history through the stories that our parents, grandparents and older relatives used to tell of the family. There was not a lot of detail back then but it got us interested to find out more.
Our family names of direct interest are VAN DE MERWE and GORDIJN from Holland (came to Gippsland in mid 1950's), MAIRS from Ireland (came to Victoria in mid 1800's), GRAY from Scotland (came to Adelaide in late 1800's), STILL from Scotland (came to Kilmore in mid 1800's).
We also enjoy reading, gardening and travel, spending time with family, going to church.
