I was very surprised to find this site during an internet search. I believe I am descendant of a John James WOTTON, born about 1810, Modbury, Devon, England, and Susan GILES, details unknown, likely born Devon.
They emigrated sometime to South Australia between 1846 and 1848.
John James Wotton died at Tarranginnie, near Nhill, SA in June, 1882.
I am descendant of their third child and first born in Australia, James John WOTTON, born 21 Dec 1848 in Currency Creek, South Australia.

James John WOTTON, of whom I am descendant, married Harriet STOKES about 1868/1874.
It appears the WOTTON family relocated to Nhill district, Western Victoria about 1874 or 1875.
Their cildren in order were
James John WOTTON b 23 Apr 1874. He subsequently married Annie Jane COCHRANE in 1898 at Walgett, NSW, of whom I am descendant.
