Zeppel Family of South Australia

Hi,

I am looking for Zeppel relatives from South Australia.

My Zeppel family start with Michael born 1839 in Prussia to Johann & Anna Christine (Franz) Zeppel. Michael and his mother Anna Christine came to South Australia on "Sophie & Fredericke" at 22 years of age with his mother and they were recorded as being "late of Oreswaca, Prussia".

Michael married Maria Amalie Lehmann/Schrapel on the 12th November, 1868 in Bethany, South Australia. I think the old family story is that they firstly stayed and worked with friends/relatives in Bethany until they could afford to buy land which they did in Sedan about 4 years later. Michael and Amalie went on to have 11 children of which 3 died before marriage (twins when 3 months old and a 20 year old son).

Son of Michael and Amalie - Traugott Heinrich (Harry) married Luise Meta Voigt on the 18th September, 1912 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loxton. They bought land in Pyap nr Loxton and began farming. Daughter Mona Adeline was born the following year with another son Francis Robert 12 years later.

Mona went on to become a very well known dancer/actor/singer and worked with many stars of the day. She was my Grandmother.

I have a fair bit on the family tree but as we know there are always brick walls and would love to make contact with any relatives of the above.

O'Grady/Grady Family in New Zealand

The earliest New Zealand O'Grady/Grady relative we have found is Malachy/Malachi O'Grady who was married to Bedelia (Bridget) Hynes in Ireland (Galway)? before they sailed to New Zealand. It is a mystery as to the exact date that they arrived in New Zealand and from where exactly they disembarked from. Some of Bridget's brothers were born in Ireland but left Scotland for NZ in 1861. It looks like it might have been 1862-1864 that they arrived. Any idea's?

Baines & Tulk Families of NSW, Australia

I am researching the above families. Mainly James Thomas Baines (born Glebe,1874 - died "Wattle Grove", Eastwood 1945) and his wife Jessie May nee Buckland (born Grafton 1885 - died Parramatta 1972) and their daughters (Aurora, Jessie Francis, Constance, Edna & Elsie) families. I have alot of information on this family tree. I would love to hear from any relatives.

Timothy Squires & Mary Wells - The Canning Affair - England 1753

The Son of the above was James Squire(s) who was a First Fleet convict in Australia who turned his life around and was the first successful brewer in the colony who has had his beer revived and is for sale in down under.

Mid 1700's in England James's relatives were involved in one of the most talked about legal cases in English history involving aledged kidnapping, assault and prostitution. It seems Elizabeth Canning made this story up and was transported to America for perjury. The truth about this facinating tale will never be known.

I would love to hear from any relatives of this family. I have alot of information regarding these families.

Abraham & Mary Bush (Tinker) of Kent, Lambeth, England & NZ

I am having trouble find information on My 5x grandparents lives before they left England for New Zealand in the 1850's.

ABRAHAM BUSH (born c 1800, London England, died 1873, Nelson, NZ). It has been a challenge finding his parents or siblings. There are many Bush families in London and Kent at that time. After he married MARY TINKER (born 1800 Kent, Eng, died 1877, Nelson, NZ) at Erith, Kent in 1821. First child Abraham William was born in Lambeth and it seems they stayed in that area until the early 1830's. An 1841 census shows Abraham, Mary & Abraham William as living in Newington.

Abraham & Mary went to NZ about 1850's as he is first noted in a newspaper c 1856. I have searched passenger lists and cannot as yet find a listing for them. I have found children and grand children but can't find when they arrived. Son Thomas bc 1829 and his wife Eliza + 4 children and also Thomas's brother Abraham William arrived on the "John Masterton" at Nelson in Feb, 1857. The families set up lives mainly as Publican's, (all Abraham and Mary's children were Publicans in thier lives at one stage (daughter Mary Elizabeth Cleaver took over the licence for the "Plough Inn", Nelson after her husband died in 1856). They were also Cabinet Makers/Carpenters, in Nelson. (Thomas Bush).

BUSH - LEWIS, England and New Zealand

Abraham William Bush (parents Abraham & Mary nee Tinker) was born in England in 1822. He married Elizabeth Lewis in August, 1847, Newington, England.

It is thought that she died before he headed to NZ with his brother Thomas and his wife and 4 children in 1857. Any information would be appreciated.

BUSH - CANT, England and New Zealand

Henry Silvester Bush (parents Abraham & Mary Bush (nee Tinker) married Ellen Cant in 1858 in Nelson, NZ. Ellen died at her in-laws the Steamboat Tavern, Nelson in April, 1869 aged 31 years old. I'm not sure how many children they had together or her family history. Any information would be appreciated.
